Why do we keep frenetically posting?
Who’s likes are we hoping?
Or dislikes or any kind of reaction for that matter?
What is this thing that keeps us constantly connected?
yet so disconnected towards each other...
All sort of happenings which we feel obliged to share!
Sometimes I truly get it,
The urge to span some joy,
The need for some instant gratification
Not to mention immediate validation!
But then I cannot help it but wonder:
What good is all of this
When it’s us we truly miss?
When a “seen” without reply
Will feel like the utmost defy
Living you feeling so dry.
News feeds with loose ends
Endless list of “Friends”
“Influencers”/ Followers
Know-how-ers
Yet so few doers.
Everybody presenting their best Face
Impeccable polished.
Though the brutal truth
Is that their characters are demolished.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not judging!
Or at least I’m trying…
I too am one of the “proud” faces of the Avatar Book
This crazy little thing called Facebook
Which sometimes feels like the Jungle Book.
Too many fake books
Countless addictive hooks
Without deep overlooks.
Nevertheless
I must confess
That being in touch with people worldwide
Might keep me going for a while..
Other than that,
Keep scrolling,
Stop growling,
Cease trolling,
Use wisely the “blocking”
Instead try consoling
Faith in humanity restoring.
Oh and like my artistic mum
Well taught me
Let’s like each other for real
Without making it a big deal.
