Reading is sexy

… Because I couldn’t decide on just one book and because I’m a book-lover or a book-worm (call me how you prefer) here’s a list of my ten favorite books that had an impact on my life in the past 2 to 3 years, with a quote for each, obviously because what would life be like without quotes?

So, without further ado, here’s my top ten must read in this lifetime with their related amazon link where possible, in a random order or not:D

  1. “Happiness is the way” Wayne Dyer  - “Run your life on this concept: Each day is great. Where I am is just fine, and so is where I’m going. That’s called growth motivation, and it’s a choice you can make right now.”

  2. “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success” by Deepak Chopra - ““The past is history, the future is a mystery, and this moment is a gift. That is why this moment is called ‘the present’.”

  3. “Sweet Sharing: Rediscovering the REAL You” by Ankush Jain - ““When we let go of any misunderstandings we may have, this gives rise to new thinking and new ideas; it unleashes creativity and helps us have a better experience of life.”

  4. “Improv Therapy: How to get out of your own way to become a better improviser” by Jimmy Carrane - “As an improviser, we understand that we need other people to make things work. We are trained to rely on other people, but learning how to apply that to our life is the real challenge.”

  5. “The artist’s way” by Julia Cameron - ““But do you know how old I will be by the time I learn to really play the piano / act / paint / write a decent play? / Yes . . . the same age you will be if you don't.”

  6. “The Body Keeps the Score: Mind, Brain and Body in the Transformation of Trauma” by Bessel van der Kolk - ““As long as you keep secrets and suppress information, you are fundamentally at war with yourself…The critical issue is allowing yourself to know what you know. That takes an enormous amount of courage.”

  7. “The Relationship Handbook: A Simple Guide to Satisfying Relationships” by George Pransky - “Often people think of feelings as things to work through or deal with. But feelings were meant to be a barometer to help us maintain our emotional equilibrium. Feelings provide our moment-to-moment experience of life. They tell us the extent to which our perceptions are distorted by our moods and thought systems.”

  8. “The Alabaster Girl” by Zan Perrion - “We are all broken in some way. We all have faults and insecurities. We think we have to be cool. But we do not have to be cool. We have to be authentic. Authenticity means to embrace equally all of our strength, power, courage, passion, mistakes, failures and insecurities. To present that whole self to the world instead of our practiced varnish of cool. Nobody connects because they are cool. They connect because they are real. Real is rare."

  9. “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl” By Anne Frank - “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”

  10. “Saving Social: The Dysfunctional Past and Promising Future of Social Media” by Ryan Holmes - “For some people, staying grounded means doing yoga. For others, it's spending time with family. Social media, too, can be a lifesaver.”

So there you have it, folks! If you ever decide to read one, let’s talk it over a virtual coffee or maybe even in person, happy reading and stay inspired :)
