The art of feedback

“Be an encourager, the world has enough critics!”

How on earth does one imagine

That a harsh blurted feedback

Will ever kindle anything else

Besides endless frustration

And the acute desire to fight back!

Have you observed how the worst critics

Are hidden behind their own insecurities???

Cause no one is unblemished

So let’s stop throwing stones

And be less selfish!

Words can belittle

Or motivate,

Choose carefully!

Cause the devil is in the details

And when all has been said and done,

You’d better not be the one

Who tarnished a soul

Just because you felt alone!

Note to self and anyone who needs to hear it:

Don’t take every criticism to heart

Cause giving feedback is an art

Whilst amateurs are aloud,

Only a few privileged ones

Master this craft!

I’ll be silent more

From now on

Trying to make peace

With the unspoken words,

of every criticism

That the world imposed

Upon my soul!

This doesn’t mean

I will have nothing to say,

And if my self-assertiveness

Scares you,

Try imagining my disobedience!

A life of suffering

Didn’t teach you anything?

Why do you perpetuate

This generational trauma?

When will it end?

Let’s make amends

And treat each other

At least with respect

If nothing else is left…
